Another monday, another project. This one taking place roughly in the realms of 3D Modelling!
The Brief
Technically this brief is fluid, so these details may change during the next few weeks, i'm just putting it here to reference my ongoing concept so as not to stray too far.
Time
This project will be split up into the following, ontop of the usual studio access and personal time the students can use.
- One week (9 hours) of theory and concept exploration
- One week (9 hours) of workshops
- Two weeks of 'supported' studio time
Limitations
- The avatar has a limit of 1000 tri's
- The avatar must be one flat colour plus black and white
- The final model must be accompanied by a printed 'tarot' card using their avatar
- This tarot card means the students are asked to consider their 'role' in a group dynamic
- The tarot card must (?) be hand drawn
- The card itself may use colours, as long as they take into account the other cards
The workshops will be teaching Alias Maya 2008 and to a lesser extent the ideas (archetypes, myth, etc.) behind the avatar concept.
Submission
The following components will be graded for this submission
- Avatar Design
- Avatar Tarot card (Deck)
- 3D Avatar model
- Still/animated rendering on website
